Me first time here and I really enjoyed all day dim sum. All their food is good. Their service is also really good. I wish I had a bigger appetite that night so I may try more of their other items. The decor is pretty normal like typical nice Chinese restaurant in Chinatown. Overall a very enjoyable dinner. I will definitely be back.

The very first thing I want to point out is that Begoni has the absolute BEST shui mai that I have ever had. And I've had a lot of them! We got the spicy version and just wow! The flavor was phenomenal. The spice was the perfect amount while somehow still letting the pork and shrimp be the star! The rest of the dim sum was also amazing! The sticky rice is one of my favorites! And my fiancé just loves the steamed bbq pork buns (they have the same ones are their other restaurant-Osmanthus). Also the pan fried mushroom buns might be just as good as the shui mai. The dough has a nice slight sweetness to it with the filling being full of umami flavor from the mushrooms. And the texture is just amazing. The servers are also very quick and sweet. And the restaurant itself is beautiful. Very clean and elegantly done. With so many dim sum places to choose in the area, I'm so happy to have finally tried Begoni. Hands down the best in China Town!

There's a lot of dim sum in SF especially in Chinatown, so it's hard to know which spot is good or not since there's so many to choose from. I took my parents out for lunch and we got a lot of variety. Menu was super extensive and had pictures which is a huge plus since we know what the food will look like. The service was good, but they forgot our iced water when we ask for it, so we just drank hot tea. We got string beans with XO sauce, which is a must for Chinese food. It was good. Pork & shrimp sui mai was also good, better than some of the places I've had in the Bay. My parents like the sticky rice with lotus leaf, but I wasn't a huge fan. They ordered chicken feet and that came out piping hot. Beef chow fun is also a must order, and that was my fav dish. House fried rice was not too salty/bland. It was perfectly seasoned. My sister really likes the walnut prawns. For desserts, we ordered 1 fried sesame balls and 2 orders of egg custard tarts which I feel is a bit pricey for what it tastes especially the egg tarts. One thing, my parents noticed is that whatever the food you order and they serve it to you, it will remain hot until you finish, which is so great. Not a lot of Chinese dim sum restaurants will have that kind of quality. Also, every kind of dish we order, it's not too oily or salty. You'll know you enter a Chinese restaurant when you hear them loud and clear outside & inside the restaurant lol. They'll scream and shout, but that's just how they are. Bathroom could be a lot cleaner though.

Right across from the great start theater, it was easy to dine in with a group of friends agter a shoe. I have a gluten allergy so I was worried on what I could eat. But this place was flexible! They swapped out the soy sauce with gluten free soy sauce where they could. This made me incredibly happy and I didn't miss not having the buns and dumplings at all. The waiter was incredibly nice. He accommodated as best as he could. We ordered a ton of dishes for a group of 7. My favorites were the peking duck and sautéed eggplant and string beans. Next time i'd skip the Szechuan chicken and mapo tofu. It wasn't Szechuan style at all but thats okay, the rest of the dishes were plenty good
